BiographySon of Persifer Marsden and Annie S. Cooke. Related to Annie K. Shields and Helen Archbold Cooke. Attended University of Colorado. Served on USS Tampa which was an ex-USCG Cutter serving as left escort of HG 107. Ship torpedoed and sunk by submarine UB-91 off Bristol Channel (50.40N, 6.19W) with the loss of all hands. Listed on the Tablets of the Missing. Cenotaphs at Riverside and Fairmount Cemeteries in Denver and Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
